6 months!

Jimmy is 6 months today! He has grown and changed like crazy over the past few months. Although his changes have brought their challenges, overall it has been so much fun! Around 5 months Jimmy started waking in the middle of the night and during naps for different reasons, this was frustrating, but normal I think. One reason was that he figured out how to role from his back to his front. While this was great, it scared him to death. So for a week or so we had to go in and turn him back over. And I am proud to say that Jimmy is now, officially, a tummy sleeper. He has a little routine now. Every night we go in and put him on his back, rub his tummy, then we leave the room. I'm pretty sure that as soon as we are gone he goes right on to the tummy and falls asleep (he thinks he's got us fooled). The other change that was keeping him up was a new tooth making its way through. We had no idea until one day I felt something really sharp when he was sucking on my finger! This was at about 5 1/2 months.
Thankfully he is sleeping much better now, in fact he sleeps from 7 at night until 6:30 or 7 in the morning, not bad for a 6 month old!
Jimmy is loving Daddy these days and the other day they sported their Cardinals gear together. We are trying to get him started early!

Other new tricks from the little guy include sitting up, "eating" solid food, jumping, laughing, blowing strawberries, swimming in the pool, giving "kisses", squealing at the top of his lungs, and even making some consonant sounds at times. He even seems to be beginning to get the hang of peek-a-boo, which is really funny to watch.
Unfortunately this is where all of the food usually ends up. We are still getting the hang of it!

He also got his first haircut just a few weeks ago. Not all of the newborn hair fell out and it was beginning to look a bit like a comb-over. Thanks Nanna for doing a great job!

He is weighing in at 21 lbs and measuring 28 in. these days. Also not too bad for a 6 month old (in fact I'm pretty sure its not too bad for a 12 month old).

  2. That first picture is just adorable! It's fun to see them grow, and yes, my nephew will be a year near the end of the month and I don't think he's quite 20 lbs yet. haha But they're all different :)
